Die Sonne der Tage
In “Die Sonne der Tage”, I have worked using the symbolism of colour. The installation consists of two parts. The video projection leads us to a human world in two different settings: a beach and a football pitch. The nakedness of the actor in both settings shows us his human side, but his gesture makes us think of the main symbol of Christianity, showing us a divine world, imperturbable despite both situations, and consecrating the room where it is set.
In front of the video projection, I wanted to create the symbol of the divine world through a woman body. There all is white: the parachute which works as a base, the woman’s dress, the light. The woman’s body and her dress studded by pins, refers to the female sex, which is under-used among the main monotheist religions.
“Die Sonne der Tage” doesn’t talk about God, but an individual God who can’t be transferred to, and belongs to each human being; it demythologizing the general, omnipresent, all-powerful God, that God up there and far away from us.
