Atlas de nubes

I have been asked a number of times the reason for the title “atlas de nubes” for this series: The reply is easy and complicated at the same the time. Easy because cloud atlases have always been evocative to me, both in themselves and in their shapes, and complicated because it gathers diverse 'cloudy' formations from the human aspect, those small or large things that can confuse us, make us think or simply accompany us in a vital moment. In the same way that the clouds which, depending on various factors, change their shape to another, one, stormy or beneficial, temporary or with the never ending tendency in the same way this “atlas de nubes” is formed in a series of small wall installations made up of three elements: photography, texts, and manipulated objects. The text makes the remaining 2 come out; the remaining two, despite the apparent immediacy. Atlas de nubes is a well-thought piece, which is the result of a slow creation process. The texts refer to love, indifference, innocence, naivety, the power of the ego, human needs and shortfalls. The fragment of the human face belongs to someone who has the same thoughts the text evokes. In “atlas de nubes 1” the texts arose indifference the people who contributed with their eyes were through a divorce process, one of them because of indifference, the other one because of loving too much. When the object is not found, it is recreated to fit in the piece. In this way, all elements form a unity, nothing is mere chance.
